Macroscopic-microscopic Mass Models

چکیده

We discuss recent developments in macroscopic-microscopic mass models, including the 1992 finite-range droplet model, the 1992 extended-ThomasFermi Strutinsky-integral model, and the 1994 Thomas-Fermi model, with particular emphasis on how well they extrapolate to new regions of nuclei. We also address what recent developments in macroscopic-microscopic mass models are teaching us about such physically relevant issues as the nuclear curvature energy, a new congruence energy arising from a greater-than-average overlap of neutron and proton wave functions, the nuclear incompressibility coefficient, and the Coulomb redistribution energy arising from a central density depression. We conclude with a brief discussion of the recently discovered rock of metastable superheavy nuclei near 110 that had been correctly predicted by macroscopic-microscopic models, along with a possible new tack for reaching an island near 110 beyond our present horizon.

Simulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models

Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...

Computer Modeling of Multiscale Fluid Flow and Heat and Mass Transfer in Engineered Spaces

Design and analysis of fluid flow and heat and mass transfer in engineered spaces require information of spatial scales ranging from 10 m to 10 m and time scales from 10 s to 10 s. The studies of such a multiscale problem often use multiple computer models, while each of computer models is applied to a small range of spatial and time scales. Accurate solution normally requires exchanging inform...

مدلسازی دیفرانسیلی خشک کردن مواد دوغابی و شبیه سازی عملکرد خشک کن افشانه ای

Process control of a spray dryer that is usually used as the last step of production is very crucial in obtaining a quality standard product. To this end, predicting the effect of various operating and environmental parameters on product properties is essential. Modeling was done in microscopic and macroscopic scales by modifying the mass and heat transfer equations used in investigating the dr...

Cellular Automata Simulation of a Bistable Reaction-Diffusion System: Microscopic and Macroscopic Approaches

The Cellular Automata method has been used to simulate the pattern formation of the Schlögl model as a bistable Reaction-Diffusion System. Both microscopic and macroscopic Cellular Automata approaches have been considered and two different methods for obtaining the probabilities in the microscopic approach have been mentioned. The results show the tendency of the system towards the more sta...

State Dependent Δ-pairing and Spontaneous Fission

We examine the fission barriers, mass parameters and spontaneous fission half lives of fermium isotopes within the framework of macroscopic-microscopic model with a δ-pairing interaction. Four different macroscopic models are applied and studied. The results are compared to experimental data and to the corresponding monopole pairing ones. The half lives obtained in the δ-pairing model are compa...
